Carrot poriyal

Carrot poriyal is a basic South Indian dish that everyone should know. It is basic side dish for lunch time. This is a very simple receipe which have many nutrition and vitamins. At the end, we need to add some grated coconut for adding taste to the dish. This is one of the awesome Tamil Nadu South Indian dish.  
There is a another way to make carrot poriyal. That is first cook the carrot with water and drained it. And then make a tempering for cooked carrot. But myself is very simple.

Capsicum fry
Channa masala curry 

Preparation time:10 minutes 
Cooking time:10 minutes 
Serves:2 to 3 

Ingredients:

  1. Carrot- 1/4 kg
  2. Mustard - 1tsp 
  3. Urad dal - 1 tsp 
  4. Onion - 1 
  5. Curry leaves - few
  6. Red chili- 2 or 3
  7. Grated coconut - few
Method :

Step 1: first grate the carrot finely and set aside. 

Step 2: Take a pan,  heat 2 tsp of oil, add Mustard, Urad dal, red chili, curry leaves. 

Step 3: After they cracks, add finely chopped onions and cook till onion turns light brown. 

Step 4: Now add the grated carrot and salt. Cook till the carrot turns little crispy. 

Step 5: Finally add the grated coconut and switch off the stove. Serve hot 

Pictorial:
Take a pan, heat 2 tsp of oil, add Mustard, Urad dal, curry leaves, red chili, and chopped onion. Cook till it fry. 

Add the grated carrot and salt. Cook for 5 minutes. 

Now add the grated coconut and mix well. Switch off the stove. 

Serve hot with sambar rice or Kara kulambu rice.
