Chicken 65

Chicken 65 is a popular South Indian dish. Everyone should love this chicken 65 receipe. I used leg piece of chicken for this receipe, but you can use either boneless chicken or leg piece. There are many varieties of cooking chicken 65 like hyderabad style, Andra style, madurai style and chettinad style. Now I'm going to show you how to make chicken 65 in chettinad style.

Many of us are love to eat chicken 65 as a starter. For mine also same thing, I has tried many types of chicken 65. But this one is the best of all. Most of them used egg for marinating the chicken. But I don't prefer egg and also yogurt. This receipe is made without egg or yogurt. Many of us don't know how to make chicken soft and tender. My only tip is use yogurt or soak the meat in a buttermilk for overnight. If you don't have that much time, then marinate the chicken with yogurt for at least 1 hour. Finally this is a very simple receipe and you will definitely love this.

Preparation time:5 minutes
Cooking time :10 minutes

Ingredients for marination:

  1. Chicken leg piece- 2
  2. Chicken 65 powder- 2 tsp
  3. Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  4. Ginger garlic paste- 2 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
  6. Salt- as required
  7. Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Method:

Step 1: wash the meat under the running water and drained off. Set aside.

Step 2: use all the ingredients with small amount of water and marinate the chicken for at least 1 hour or soak overnight.

Step 3: Heat oil in a deep pan, add the marinated chicken in the pan. Fry till the chicken turns golden and fully cooked. Switch off the stove and remove the chicken from pan.

Step 4: Transfer the cooked chicken into the plate, squeeze the small amount of lemon juice and serve with onion wedges.

Note: you can use egg white or whole egg, but it is optional. Using egg will leave an egg smell, if you are serving it later after while
