Chettinad Chicken gravy

     Chicken gravy is one of the easiest non veg receipe. This receipe needs no marination or grinding the masala or any. Even a bachelor also cook this dish. It can be prepared with basic ingredients that you have in your house. And also it tastes great with rasam rice or sambar rice or curd rice or plain steamed rice. All the chicken gravy are tasty but this one is very unique and spicy. That is no one has tastes this receipe before. 
     
      In this receipe, I have added the basic ingredients that you have in your house that is pepper, garlic, kulambu milagai tool, red chilli powder etc. If you are affected by cold or cough, you will get instant relief from them by Eating this chicken gravy. Because this gravy has some pepper, so pepper releases the cold and cough. Let us learn how to make chettinad Chicken gravy in simple steps and photos.

Chettinad chicken curry 
Chettinad mutton gravy

Preparation time :10 minutes 
Cooking time: 20 minutes 
Serves :2 to 3 

Ingredients:

  1. Chicken - 1/2 kg
  2. Fennel seeds - 1 tsp 
  3. Shallots- 15 to 20
  4. Tomatoes- 2
  5. Curry leaves- few
  6. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp 
  7. Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  8. Masala chili powder/kulambu milagai thool - 2 spoon
  9. Salt- as required 
  10. Pepper- 15 no
  11. Garlic- 4 pallu 
Method:

Step 1:First clean up the chicken under running water and set aside. 

Step 2: Take a pan, heat 3 tsp of oil, add Fennel seeds, curry leaves, chopped shallots and saute well. 

Step 3: Now add the chopped tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy. Add salt. 

Step 4: Add chicken and cook till it turns whitish color. And add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, kulambu milagai thool. Saute well and add 2 cups of water. Cook well till all the water evaporates. 

Step 5: Finally, add the crushed pepper and garlic in gravy. Just saute it and switch off the stove. 

Note: if you wish, garnish with coriander leaves. Do not use pepper powder, this receipe needs only crushed pepper and crushed garlic. 

Pictorial:
Heat a pan with 3 tsp of oil, add Fennel seeds, curry leaves, chopped shallots and fry it. After that add chopped tomatoes and cook well. 

Now add the cleaned chicken and saute well. 

Next add the turmeric powder, kulambu milagai thool, red chilli powder and salt. Saute well and add 2 cups of water. Cook well. After water evaporates add crushed pepper and garlic. 

Finally, you will get a tasty chicken gravy. Garnish with coriander leaves.
