Kara kulambu is one of our favorite dish in lunch time. This curry is made up of drumstick, because drumstick is one of the traditional veggie for making Kara kulambu and sambar. I have used drumstick for this receipe. But, if you wish you'll add drumstick with brinjal for this curry. So, now I'll show how to make Kara kulambu in a simple and easy way.

Ingredients :
- Drumstick - 2
- Shallots- 10
- Tomatoes - 2
- Tamarind extract- 5 spoon full
- Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
- Fenugreek - 1tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Salt- as required
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Masala chili powder/kulambu milagai thool- 3 spoon
Method:
Step 1: Take a pan, heat 3 tsp of oil, add Fennel seeds, fenugreek, curry leaves and chopped onions. Fry for 2 minutes.
Step 2: Now add tomatoes and cook until the tomatoes turns mushy. And add chopped drumstick, turmeric powder, and salt. Saute them well.
Step 3: Add the kulambu milagai thool and mix it well. Now add 3 to 4 cups of water and bring it to boil.
Step 4: After the drumstick cooked well, the curry becomes thicken. Now add the tamarind extract that taken from lemon sized tamarind. And cook for another 2 minutes. Now, switch off the stove and Kara kulambu is ready to serve with steamed plain rice.

Heat 3 tsp of oil, add Fennel seeds, fenugreek, curry leaves and chopped onions. Cook for 2 minutes.
Now add tomatoes, salt and chopped drumstick. Saute them well for 2 minutes.
Add turmeric powder, kulambu milagai thool, and mix it.
Add 3 cups of water and bring it to boil.
After the curry get thickens, add the tamarind extract. Leave them to boil in low flame for 2 minutes.
Switch off the stove. Now the drumstick Kara kulambu is ready to serve with plain rice.
