Parupu thovayal for variety rice

Parupu thovayal is a very simple receipe which goes great with rasam, variety rices and vegetable curry. It is also good for health because it has coconut, Toor dal, red chilli, garlic etc. This is also an authentic South Indian receipe. Whenever I made variety rices, I made this thovayal for my family. Try this once in your house, your family will definitely love this. Let us learn how to make parupu thovayal. 

                     

For variety rice receipe, 
Lemon rice
Tamarind rice 

Preparation time: 5 minutes 
Cooking time: 5 minutes 
Serves: 2 to 3 

Ingredients:

  1. Coconut - 3 stripes 
  2. Toor dal- 1 hand full 
  3. Red chili - 2
  4. Garlic-3 pallu 
  5. Salt- as required 
Method:

Step 1: First dry roast the Toor dal in a pan. Set aside. 

Step 2: Take a blender, add coconut, red chilli, garlic, dry roasted Toor dal, and salt. Make a fine paste and serve with variety rice or rasam. 

Note: For this receipe, we don't want to seasoning the thovayal. Because this is a healthy receipe, so no need to add oil or anything. 

Pictorial:
Dry roast the Toor dal and set aside. 

Take all ingredients in a blender and make a fine paste. 

Now parupu thovayal is ready to serve with rice.
