This is a very popular chettinad kara chutney prepared with small onions/pearl onions. This chutney is mainly served with dosa, idly, aapam and paniyaram. And it is very easy to prepare, it doesn't take much time not more than 15 minutes. This is one of my favourite receipe in chettinad chutneys, because it gives a unique taste to all of you.Now lets try this receipe once in your house, you will also become a big fan for this chutney. Today we will learn how to make easy kara chutney in 10 minutes.

Ingredients needed:
- Shallots/pearl onions- 50 grams
- Tomato- 3
- Red chillies- 6 or 7
- salt as required
For Seasoning:
- oil -3 tsp
- mustard- 1 tsp
- urad dal- 1tsp
- curry leaves- few
Methods:
Step 1: Grind all the shallots, tomatoes, red chillies, salt to a fine smooth paste.
Step 2: Heat a pan, pour 3 tsp oil, add mustard, when it starts to splutters, add urad dal, curry leaves and grounded paste.
Step 3: cook in a low flame for 10 minutes, till the chutney releases oil in the sides of the pan. switch off the stove and ready to serve with idly or dosa for the tempting morning breakfast or dinner.
