Lamp leg green beans curry/aatu kaal mochai payaru kulambu

Lamp leg curry is a spicy chettinad receipe in South India. It is an authentic receipe, that gives you a rich taste and nice flavor, when cooked properly. It is the perfect dish for lunch and dinner. Preparation time :10 minutes 
Cooking time :20 minutes 
Serves:2 to 3 

Ingredients :

  1. Lamp leg- 1
  2. Mochai payaru - 50 grams
  3. Cinnamon -  1 piece 
  4. Fennel seeds - 1tsp 
  5. Curry leaves - few
  6. Onion - 1 
  7. Tomatoes - 2
  8. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp 
  9. Masala chili powder/kulambu milagai thool-3 spoon 
  10. Salt- as required 
  11. Coconut - 2 stripes( make a fine paste) 
Method:

Step 1: First cook the lamp leg and mochai payaru in pressure cooker separately. 

Step 2: Take a pan, heat 2 tsp of oil, add cinnamon, Fennel seeds, chopped onion, curry leaves. 

Step 3:After onion cooked well, add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric powder, and cook till the tomatoes turns mushy. 

Step 4: Now add masala chili powder, cooked lamp leg, cooked mochai payaru and saute them well. Add 3 to 4 cups of water and bring it to boil. 

Step 5: After 10 minutes of cooking, curry becomes thicker than before. Now add the grounded paste of coconut and cook for 2 minutes. Switch off the stove and ready to serve with plain rice or Idly, dosa.

Pressure cook the lamp leg and mochai payaru separately 

Heat 2 tsp of oil, add cinnamon, Fennel seeds, curry leaves, onions and cook well. 

Add tomatoes, and salt. 

After tomatoes cooked well,  add lamp leg, mochai payaru, turmeric powder, masala chili powder and saute well. 

Add 3 cups of water and bring it to boil. 

After curry thickens, add grounded coconut paste and cook for 2 minutes. 

Now the lamp leg curry is ready to serve with Plain rice or dosa
